Friends, I need your opinion. Hal and I have been doing a lot of research and we're having a very difficult time setting a date for our wedding. Since we'll be saying our vows overlooking the Puget Sound, we had to go by the tides. And the tides don't always cooperate. We narrowed it down to a Saturday in September or the Friday of Labor Day weekend. Why a Friday, you ask? Well it just so happens to be a rare blue moon! That did it for me.
But we're worried that asking guests to come to a Friday wedding is rude and selfish. 80% of our guests will be traveling from out of state, so they'll have to take a vacation day (or more) if they work normal business hours. And then there's the Thursday evening rehearsal dinner.
But if we choose the Saturday in September, many guests with children won't be able to make it due to school being in session. We love the kiddos, so that would make us sad. And weather also gets risker the closer we get to Fall.
As a guest, would a Friday (daytime) wedding annoy you? Even if it was Labor Day weekend? I know we can't please everyone, but I'd really like to be a considerate host. Please help... I'd love to know your thoughts!
