I'm fascinated by the idea of taking something made for one use and recreating it for a different use. Similar to my post on recycled jewelry, South African designer, Katie Thompson takes old suitcases and turns them into chairs. She turns old Hoover vacuums into arch lamps, muffin trays into a flower vases, typewriters into a desk lamps, hat boxes into ottomans, and buckets into stools. Don't you wish you thought of these?
